Role Overview
As a Domiciliary Child Care Worker, you'll support children with varying needs within their own homes and the community. Unlike live-in or long shifts, domiciliary care focuses on shorter, structured visits to provide essential support, encourage independence, and build safe, trusting relationships.
What the Role Involves

Visiting children in their homes at agreed times (morning, after school, evening, weekend support)

Assisting with daily routines (personal care, meals, homework, activities)

Supporting children to access the community (clubs, appointments, social activities)

Encouraging independence and self-confidence
-
Offering emotional and behavioural support
-
Working in line with individual care plans

Keeping accurate records of support provided and any incidents/concerns

Communicating effectively with families, schools, and professionals involved in the child's care
Children You May Work With

Children with additional or complex needs

Young people who may have experienced trauma, neglect, or challenging backgrounds

Neurodiverse children (autism, ADHD, learning difficulties)
